A fixture
fixes, or holds a part for machining, assembly, or inspection.
A modular fixture is a fixture with reusable
elements that fit into a metal lattice as shown below.
Fixturenet is an interactive Java applet that allows users to draw a part. Fixturenet then computes and displays all modular fixtures that will hold that part. Users can click and drag on the resulting displays to visualize reaction forces.
